Appliance removal by a Genie two-person crew

Old appliances are heavy and many contain refrigerant or metal that has to be handled properly. Your crew removes disconnected appliances and takes them to a metal or appliance recycler.

What we take

  • Fridges & freezers
  • Stoves & ranges
  • Washers & dryers
  • Dishwashers
  • Microwaves & small appliances
  • Water heaters (disconnected)

Good to know

A two-person crew loads most jobs — pianos, hot tubs, sheds and other big pieces may need extra hands or dismantling, which your pro confirms in the app first. We can’t take paint, solvents & chemicals, motor oil, propane tanks, asbestos, and medical or biological waste.

Your crew can only add to the price with your approval in the app, and your payment is held until you approve the finished job.

We remove almost everything

⁺ Heavy material — adds $75 per ¼ truck because dumps charge by weight. ⁺⁺ Needs taking apart or extra hands — your pro confirms any extra in the app before starting, and nothing is added without your OK.

Heavy material (concrete, drywall, dirt, shingles) adds $75 per ¼ truck because dumps charge by weight. Plus the $4.99 booking fee and sales tax. If there’s more on the day, your crew shows the new price in the app and you approve it before they load.

How it works

1

Pick your load

Choose single item up to a full truck and see the price before you book. Add photos or notes for anything awkward.

2

A vetted crew comes

Two people arrive in your time window, carry everything out from wherever it is, load it and sweep up.

3

Proof it was disposed of

Your pro adds a dump or donation receipt photo (or the drop-off) to your job before it’s marked done. Payment is released only when you approve.

FAQ

How much does appliance removal cost?

It’s priced by truck space: single item $75 up to a full truck $589. Appliance removal jobs are typically around single item ($75). Heavy material adds $75 per ¼ truck. Plus the $4.99 booking fee and tax.

Will you disconnect the appliance?

Please have it unplugged and disconnected first — gas lines and water lines need a licensed pro (you can book one on Genie). Once it’s disconnected, the crew handles the rest.

Where does it go?

Donation first, then recycling, then a licensed transfer station — and your pro adds the receipt or drop-off photo to your job before it’s marked done.

Which cities do you cover?

Genie crews work in 39 cities including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton, Mississauga, Hamilton.
