We want every job done right. This policy explains cancellations, our satisfaction process, and how refunds work. It is written to be clear and fair while protecting the platform; it does not limit rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

Cancellations

• Free cancellation if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start.
• Cancelling inside that window, or a no-show when the pro has arrived, may incur a cancellation fee to compensate the pro for reserved time.
• Recurring plans can be paused or cancelled anytime; a visit already dispatched may be charged.

Our satisfaction process

For managed jobs, payment is held until you approve completion. If something is not right, raise it in the app within 72 hours of completion. Genie will review and, at its sole discretion, arrange an appropriate remedy — typically a re-do by the pro, a partial credit, or a refund as Genie determines reasonable in the circumstances.

Quotes, deposits & projects

For compare-and-choose projects, terms (including any deposit) are set between you and the pro; deposits may be non-refundable once work or materials are committed. Genie facilitates payment but is not the provider.

Advertising, leads & partner fees

Advertising placements, lead fees and partner charges are generally non-refundable once delivered, except where a lead is invalid or duplicate under our lead rules.

How refunds are issued

Approved refunds or credits are returned to your original payment method or as Genie credit, at Genie’s discretion, normally within a reasonable period after approval.

Chargebacks

Please contact support before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve the issue; abusive chargebacks may result in account action.

Your statutory rights

This policy applies to the extent permitted by law and does not limit non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection laws — including provincial Consumer Protection Acts in Canada (for example, statutory cancellation and refund rights for online/distance contracts) and applicable U.S. state law. Where the law gives you a stronger right, that right applies. All discretionary remedies above are provided at Genie’s sole discretion.
