Best practices — getting pool cleaning & care done right
Know what good looks like before you book:
Keep chemistry balanced weekly — reactive fixes cost more
Run the pump long enough daily in peak heat
Brush walls to prevent algae taking hold
Line up opening and closing at the right times of year
Why it's worth it
Clear, balanced water that's safe to swim in
Protects expensive pump, heater and liner
No wrestling with chemistry and equipment yourself
More time enjoying the pool, less maintaining it
Book pool cleaning & care one-off or on a recurring schedule
Need pool cleaning & care just once? Book a single visit. Want it handled regularly? Set up a recurring schedule and it's taken care of automatically — no more remembering to re-book.
Pick your frequency — weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, whatever suits your routine.
Choose your days & times — pick the exact day of the week and time slot from the in-app calendar; Genie schedules every visit for you.
Keep the same pro — request the pro you like for every visit, so they learn your home and preferences.
Set it once, then relax — each visit is booked automatically and you're reminded beforehand, with your payment held in escrow and released only after each one is done.
Full control, no lock-in — skip, reschedule, pause or cancel any visit anytime in the app. Recurring plans also unlock member savings.
Sign in and Genie matches you with the nearest top-rated, verified pro and shows your price before you book. On the day your pro checks in, completes the work to the agreed scope, and shares completion photos where it makes sense — then you review and approve.
How to prepare
Clear access to the yard, driveway or gate (share a gate code if needed)
Point out exactly what needs doing and any problem spots
Move cars, toys or obstacles out of the work area
Flag anything fragile, marked or off-limits (garden beds, sprinkler heads)
Every outdoor & seasonal pro on Genie is background-checked and reviewed — and you'll see your price the moment you sign in.
