Cost guide · 2026A clear, honest guide to home theater & av setup pricing in Canada — what drives the cost, whether to DIY, how to save, and how to get a firm number instead of a guess.

A single smart plug is DIY; whole-home Wi-Fi, security and automation are worth a pro to get right the first time. When you do hire, booking a vetted, insured pro protects you — and on Genie, the price is shown upfront and any on-site change is approved by you first.
Get a firm upfront price so there are no surprises, bundle related tasks into one visit where it makes sense, book ahead of seasonal peaks, and keep the work on a platform that holds payment until the job's confirmed done. Comparing vetted pros on past work — not just price — avoids the cheap quote that costs more later.
